We've been married for nearly three months now and currently living in the tiny one bedroom we call home. I can't help to day dream about our future house. Ya know... the one we currently can't afford. As we work on building our savings to put down a hefty down payment, I can't help but wonder how I will lay it all out.
Thanks to Polyvore, my visions can now live on an art board. Using pieces of furniture (and items) we currently own, I've put together a few of our future rooms that I can't wait to decorate. Oh and FYI, apparently I have good taste, or either browse the Crate & Barrel catalog WAAAAAY too much. If I could live in the show room, I probably would.
Here we have our bedroom. Currently we own the bed and the teal bed linens. We also painted the wall behind the bed yellow. We are both a big fan of the dark wood dresser and side table. I added a few accents to give you the full picture.
Next up is Our Kitchen. I've expanded on the yellow some and used lime green to accent it. My dream is to have ivory cabinets with contemporary hardware, and a butcher block counter top. I'm showing our actual every day dinnerware and dutch oven in the board below.
Then I hope to have a formal living room. My favorite memory growing up was having the Christmas tree set up in our formal living room. It made using this room feel special, and important. It was always the first room you saw when entering our home, and I want to have one similar in our dream home. My color palette would be neutrals, gold and pink/rose. I've also included Nick's favorite chair from C&B.
Finally, we have the office, which is really more of my office. I have always had intentions of using left over wedding details to add to this design. I've included the desk we currently own, and the bookshelf too. I'm hoping that the iMac comes sooner rather than later as well ;)
That's just the beginning! I have yet to create a board for our formal dining room and for the family room. Our intentions for the guest bedroom will be to use the current dressers we have, which were passed down to me from my grandmother who had them in her home for many years and I've had since I was 16. Also in the room will be the queen size bed and headboard, however the headboard did get pretty beaten up during one of my moves and it may be time for a new one. But there you have it! Now we need a house to put it all in!! Maybe one day soon. For now we are going to make do with our tight squeeze.
