August Happenings

We've had a great month! It actually started back in July when Nick and I purchased our first car together!! We found a 2004 Ford Escape perfect for Nick to use as his car and to replace the minivan he had been driving around. The search was finally over! It's a perfect size for our road trips and to throw Maddy's crate in the back when we visit with friends and family.

Our first long road trip will be this coming Labor Day weekend when we head to Tybee Island, Georgia for some beach time with friends! We have rented out a 10 person cottage for the weekend and are all set to party hard and enjoy friends!! More to come on that trip!

August in Georgia means kids are back in school, fall sports have started and this is our crazy time at work. Not only because we have many other web projects in the queue, but as the graphic designer I get to design, layout and add all content to three high school fall sports programs. This year was my fourth year working on the projects and third year designing and taking the lead on them. What I love the most, is that I have three beautiful books to show the fruits of my labor when all is said and done. For the past four weeks I worked extremely hard on all three and am so proud of how they look. With each new year I'm learning quicker tricks to get the job done. I think by year five I'll be almost perfect at it.

I'm just too stinkin' proud of all of these. I worked really hard to make the deadline so that Nick and I could visit Northern Virginia for my best friend's wedding!

Elizabeth and John got married on August 21st and it was a beautiful wedding! I was so honored to stand by their side on this day. Nick and I even made some friends there! We ate some yummy food and danced all night. Reflecting on our wedding, we definitely had more fun at their's with the spotlight off of us :)

This week we've been all about relaxing. Our schedules were back to normal and we had no upcoming events to attend, it was nice to just sit and enjoy each other's company. Today we gathered a group of people and went tubing down the Chattahoochee River. Despite the clouds and freezing water, we still managed to have a good time. Nick and I are lucky for the friends we have in common and that we all get along so well.

Up next is our trip to Tybee! We will be sure to take pictures and enjoy the sun and sand for everyone!
